13 Ways to Increase Response to Your Offer

There are many ways to increase the response of an offer. Here are 13 successful strategies to consider when creating an offer. What you do, who your customer, client or patient is and the nature of your offer will determine which strategies might work best. Many of these should be elements of each and every offer.

  1. Offer a complimentary gift with purchase.
  2. Make sure your offer is easy to respond to.
  3. Observe what is successful in another industry and adapt it to your business.
  4. Make sure the design of your offer is congruent with your message.
  5. If creating an out-of-the-box mailing piece, be sure to check with the post office for rules and regulations. They have lots of them and you don’t want to get your piece rejected or pay far more in postage than you have to.
  6. Eliminate risk and fear of purchase by offering a rock solid guarantee or no charge trial period.
  7. Stay away from industry jargon. Use plain English.
  8. Benefits are the reason to buy. List these rather than just the features.
  9. Take the necessary time to come up with a great headline. It is the first thing people read and if it is compelling will be the reason they continue to read.
  10. In a letter, use the P.S. After the headline it is the second thing people will read.
  11. If mailing a letter, put teaser copy on the envelope to get people to open it.
  12. Encourage immediate action. Establish a deadline. The shorter the better too. Far out deadlines only encourage people to set your offer aside for later action that often times doesn’t happen.
  13. Be sure you are clear on what you want your prospect to do. Call for an appointment, come into the store, order online, etc.
