For someone looking for a new dentist, going through dental websites can quickly lead them to believe that one dentist is pretty much the same as any other. Lots of the websites look similar to each other—many even use the same stock photos or layouts, though perhaps with different color schemes.

The copy on the site is pretty much the same, too—a list of services with simplistic, patient-friendly descriptions. There’s usually a bio page for the dentist stating where they went to school and emphasizing their commitment to continuing education.

When it comes to raising awareness of your dental practice, getting people to know you exist is one step in the process…but even if you can get a potential patient to take the time to look, will they find anything that makes you stand apart from your competition?

What makes you special?

You know for a fact that you’re unique from other dentists, and you have a lot to offer your patients.

A big problem you may be running into with your marketing is that you likely haven’t found the right way to let them know.

You haven’t found your story.

Your story should be at the center of your marketing

What makes your practice different from the others? What can patients experience with your practice that they can’t get from the office down the street? When you start looking into the answers to these questions, you can begin to piece together the story of your practice, and this story can become the foundation of your marketing.

Storytelling is an art that has been around for as long as humanity itself. A good story grabs a person’s attention and gets them interested. Done right, It can help people feel a connection to what they’re reading about. In the case of a dentist, a compelling story can help someone know they’ve found the right person to trust with their oral health.

This is why it’s so important that you find your story so that you’ll be able to reach others effectively. There are patients out there who are a perfect fit for your practice, and getting your story out there will help them find you.

If you’ve been struggling with a message that will help your marketing stand out from the competition, do yourself a favor and take some time to explore what makes you unique, and start putting together your story.
