Breathe New Life into Your Marketing (Step 2)

This week we are on to Step 2 in the four-step process designed to freshen up your marketing.

Your Expertise (Step 2)
If you have been successful in your business you have acquired the knowledge and skills to make this so. A very effective way to use the knowledge you have obtained is to share it with your clients and prospects. If you may be thinking what kind of information you would share, consider starting with the top ten most frequently asked questions you receive from your customers. Carry this one step further and next would be the top ten questions your customers should ask.  Answer these questions and your well on your way to sharing your valuable expertise.

But where do you share the information, you ask? There are many places to add information into your marketing. To name a few—

  • Newsletters (printed and e-news). If you are not doing these, you should be. This is hands down the best way to build relationships and get more business.
  • Notices in your correspondence. As an example, think about the kind of information that is in your electric and/or gas bill. They typically send helpful tips on saving energy, using resources, how-to information, etc.
  • Social media. This is the perfect place to get your information out there. Facebook (the #2 website in the world), Twitter, Linkedin and your own blog are great places to start.
  • Your website. Adding a FAQ page also helps with the search engines. Be sure you use the search terms or keywords people use to find your product or service.
