Communicating with your patients is the most important thing you can be doing right now.
How are you communicating with your patients?
During this time of uncertainty, it’s of the utmost priority that you are talking to your patients. With everything that has transpired over the past weeks, fear is at an all-time high and your dental practice is not exempt from this.
The most important thing you can is to let patients know what’s happening with your practice and how COVID-19 and CDC guidelines have changed dentistry for them and you.
First and foremost, let them know you care about them, their health, and their safety. What things have you done in the past that they may or may not be aware of? What have you changed to comply with CDC and ADA guidelines? How are you going above and beyond these guidelines?
Let your patients know when you are re-opening for routine dental procedures, and if you are extending your hours/days to better accommodate their needs.
Tell them what you will be doing to protect them from infection and the procedures you will follow with scheduled appointments.
Educate them on why it is so important to keep their regular hygiene visits and reassure them that you are doing everything possible to keep them safe.
How are you communicating and are you reaching everyone?
Make sure you are connecting in as many avenues as possible. You cannot OVERDO this:
- Text messages
- Emails
- Website
- Phone Calls
- Videos
- Social Media
- Direct Mail
- Google Ads/Facebook Ads
- External marketing (newspapers, radio, billboards, etc.)
Communicating with your patients builds relationships and loyalty, shows you care and gives them confidence in you as their trusted dental team.
