How Do I Get My Practice to Show Up on Google?

We are probably not breaking any new ground with this statement, but the internet is an important place for your dental practice!

As we have mentioned in past blog articles, one of the ways people find out about your practice is through searching online.

Your practice needs to come up in those searches in order for these potential patients to know you exist and schedule an appointment with you.

Getting your website to show up in search takes a little bit more work than just having a website—which, hopefully, you have by now (if you don’t, you need one. Give us a call!).

When it comes to having a website show up in search, here are some things you should be doing:

  1. Make it Personal
    We’ve talked about this before but want to restate it because it is THAT important. Most practices have websites that are not personalized at all and have a very cold feeling to them.
    You want people to feel emotion when they come to your site and there is no better way than by making your site about you and your patients.
    When your site is personal, it helps tremendously with #2: User Experience.
  2. User Experience
    Another important feature of your website is how user-friendly it is. If your website has a high bounce rate, meaning people leave your site quickly, search engines will use that information and show it lower in search results.
    Make it as easy as possible for a patient to find information. You also want to make sure everything that can be clicked on actually works and goes to where it needs to.
  3. Title and Description Tags
    Here is a great example from one of our clients who currently shows up first for a search for “dentures Dover OH.” By properly tagging your website with title and descriptions, your site will be positioned for more traffic and better search ranking.
