How to Optimize your Website for Voice Search

Well, I don’t know that she can actually follow that command, but, how many people do you think rely on products like Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to keep track of their daily lives?

More than you can count, I’m sure. In fact, in January 2018 alone, there were over ONE BILLION voice searches made through voice assistant devices. This technology will continue to grow and become more of a part in our everyday lives. It’s important that you know how you can include it in your practice.

People are primarily using local voice searches to look up directions, hours of operation, and phone numbers, so making sure that all of this information is listed correctly online will benefit you and your prospective patient. When the right information is being displayed to them, it increases your ability to show up in future voice searches, drawing more and more people towards your practice.

What else can you do to optimize voice search?

Including an FAQ page on your website is a good place to start. Typically, people are asking full questions when doing a voice search, so having those phrases and keywords on your website will make the answers more visible to them. Also, answers to the most commonly asked questions should be in the first sentence rather than buried beneath filler information so it’s found easier by search bots and gets served up.

A recent study has found that almost half of those who make a local voice search will contact the business by phone. They are also more likely to visit the website for more information about services and offers.

If you start optimizing your practice for the constantly-evolving digital age now, you could find yourself ahead of the game in the near future.
