Your newsletter subject line has a huge impact on the opening rate of your e-newsletter.

The more personal and intriguing, the higher the opening rate. To help you craft a subject line that leads to clicks, here are some tips:

Short and Simple

The recommended length of a subject line is between 1-20 characters. It is important for the person reading the subject line to be able to see the whole subject line.


Another way to increase open rates is by incorporating the name of the person you are sending the email to in the subject line. You should also make use of segmenting your email campaigns so certain people get content that is relevant to them.

Create Urgency

If you are sending patients a special or exclusive offer, you want to create a sense of urgency in your subject line. Phrases such as “limited time” or “for this month only” are good ways to compel your readers to click.

Use Questions

Another effective subject line strategy is by using questions. Sending your patients an email that asks a question rather than making a statement is a good way to increase your open rate.
