3 Ways to Be Relevant and Fresh Online

The world of marketing never stops changing, especially online marketing.

Strategies and trends that were popular and driving traffic a few years ago may not even be relevant anymore. We have seen Google change its search algorithm over and over, which leads to marketers constantly changing and adapting new techniques to keep up.

Your dental practice may not be up on the current online marketing trends, which we understand. It’s tough to find time to stay up to date when you have other things going on. We decided to help you out and look at a couple of things you should be doing right now to stay on top of the current marketing trends.

1. Make sure your website is mobile-friendly. We can not stress this point enough. According to BGR, mobile usage in October of 2016 passed desktop usage for the first time, and mobile traffic continues to increase over desktop usage.

Having a website that can be easily viewed and navigated from the screen of a phone is a must have. A study by McKinsey & Company found that:

61% of users are unlikely to return to a site if they had trouble viewing it on their phone.

2. Is your practice on social media (and actively posting)? By now, everyone knows they should be using social media for their practice. Social media offers your practice a way to share information, connect with current patients and be found by prospective patients. A study by Statista shows that in 2017, 81% of the U.S. population has at least one social media profile. So if you are not active on social media, you are missing a huge target market.

3. Do you use video? Video is something that has recently grown in popularity for business use and is a kind of content that is becoming more favored over articles. You do not have to go out and buy an expensive camera and equipment. There are plenty of sites that you can use to create informational videos to share online.

1/3 of the time people spend online is dedicated to viewing videos.
