Simply posting consistently on social media can sometimes not be enough to gain the maximum level of engagement.

Simply posting consistently on social media can sometimes not be enough to gain the maximum level of engagement.

It’s important to remember that your patients like posts that are more personal. Your patients are far more likely to comment on a picture of one of your employees waterskiing as opposed to an article about dental health.

Personal posts do not mean you have to share family information or post a photo of your home; these posts are just to show patients the human side of your practice and make them feel more connected. Here are some simple ideas for a more personal social media profile:

Your practice most likely has a few employees, besides the doctor. A great way to show more of a “personal” side to your practice is posting a picture of your practice celebrating someone’s birthday. Even just posting a photo of the employee and wishing them a happy birthday is enough.

A great post that every dentist should use is the date they began practicing at their current location. Take a picture of your office and thank your patients for helping your practice thrive.

Anytime someone from the office goes to an event, like a Paragon meeting or any kind of dental conference, snap a few photos and post about the event on your social media accounts.

National Days

There are plenty of national days related to dentistry, such as National Dentist Day, National Dental Assistant Recognition Week, and National Dental Hygiene Month. Use these to your advantage and post about the dentist, dental assistants or the dental hygienists at your practice.

Most of you probably decorate your practice for a specific holiday that is occurring, so show your social media followers how you’re celebrating!

The more personal your social media the more engaged and connected your patients will be, which is what social media is all about.
